My son recently did a drawing at school of his family that showed me (bio mother) in a very femme dress and his co-mother looking like a man. (Not like either of us.) Another lesbian mother 's comment, when shown this, was that he was normalising his family, both in his own mind and for public consumption. It was one of the lightbulb moments for me.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17680687031479016392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14962422.post-26497741590685641352006-09-14T17:38:00.000-04:002006-09-14T17:38:00.000-04:00i think about telling z about not wanting to get p...i think about telling z about not wanting to get pregnant a lot. i don't know how she'll hear it - like you said. beautiful post.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13140821870528911272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14962422.post-80514522811774446812006-09-10T20:34:00.000-04:002006-09-10T20:34:00.000-04:00This is such a great way to talk about all the thi...This is such a great way to talk about all the things that make CG the whole person who she is, and how you as a parent honor and respect that. Adoption is no different from other social institutions in the sense that our approach to and assumptions about it are evolving. We've come a long, long way from entirely closed and even secret adoptions, and that is a good thing.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08235049965406944684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14962422.post-51309147340850200732006-09-08T23:27:00.000-04:002006-09-08T23:27:00.000-04:00Well, I teared up at this.
