In Between Tens, some Fours

Despite the fact that Dr. Crazy--at her wonderful new space, Reassigned Time, pronounces the four meme dead, I've been tagged! Thanks, Susoz, and here goes, although I must point out that I freeze up when asked to make lists, even if I have the chance to ponder them for several days before posting. So I think I may have better answers to some of these at a later date. Nonetheless:

Four jobs you've had in your life:
  1. concession girl at a charity bingo
  2. tennis shack worker
  3. boarding school teacher
  4. library assistant

Four movies you could watch over and over:
  1. Emma
  2. Mary Poppins
  3. When Harry Met Sally
  4. Galaxy Quest

Four places you've lived:
  1. over an Asian import shop
  2. en Provence
  3. on a barrier island (full of people, but an island nonetheless)
  4. in Ontario near Lake Erie

Four TV shows you love to watch (edited to include or used to love to watch, as I'm not watching TV very regularly these days):
  1. The West Wing
  2. Mystery!
  3. once upon a time:Wiseguy
  4. the Olympics on the CBC, and the National. I miss Canadian TV.

Four places you've been on vacation:
  1. County Clare, Ireland
  2. Budapest
  3. Norway
  4. Amsterdam

Four websites you visit daily:
  1. Google
  2. Phantom Scribbler (and many of the rest of the folks on the blogroll--although there are more I follow with bloglines and i've not yet gotten the blogroll coordinated with bloglines)
  3. Yahoo Groups!
  4. my university home page

Four of your favourite foods:
  1. good, dark bread
  2. masala dosa
  3. milk
  4. peaches and grapenuts with yogurt

Four places you'd rather be:
  1. The Organic Market in Stirling, South Australia, before or after a walk in the Botanical Gardens at Mount Lofty
  2. near the Atlantic Ocean--in New York, or Florida, or Ireland, or anywhere, really, with a comfy bed and a window where I could hear the waves crashing
  3. in bed: I'm staying up too late these days
  4. with Politica. I miss her. She's been gone 6 days. Coming home tomorrow.
And I'll tack on something that wasn't in Susoz's version of this meme, which is

four things you say often
  1. You don't need to memorize this. The point of college is to teach you how to look it up later if you ever need it. Let's focus on how to think about what you're doing.
  2. It's not supposed to be easy when you start it. If everything we did was easy for you to do, you'd not be getting much of an education.
  3. Mama loves you!
  4. Use your words to answer my words. Or I'm so sorry about that, CG. What would make it/you feel better now?

Anyone else want to play? Leave a comment if you do.

Galaxy Quest! Now there's a fun, underrated movie. I loved Sigourney Weaver. And, if you've seen it over and over again, you've probably noticed a scene near the end where her lips are CLEARLY enunciating "F*** that!" but they looped over it and had her say "Screw that" or something somewhat less offensive to kids' ears. I crack up at that every time.
