A little funny....

I really do want to write something more essayistic here. Spring break ends tonight, Curious Girl goes back to school, and life should return to normal, or at least as normal as the last month of the semester ever is.

But tonight, I'm sitting here googling party supplies so that I can avoid shopping with Curious Girl for her birthday party. She'll be five (!!!!) next month, and is determined to have a Hello Kitty party (which, in all other respects, she wants to be exactly the same as her last party, which was, like all our parties, a "come over, hang around, let's eat" sort of affair. But this time, with Hello Kitty plates and whatnot).

I am quite sure that you, dear readers, will be as amused as I to discover the full extent of the Hello Kitty product line. Not only does Hello Kitty come in a large array of designs, but also a large array of products, my favorite of which is the toaster which will make Hello Kitty's face appear on every slice of toast (and which has very enthusiastic reviewers testifying to the toast's cuteness). This makes me laugh. It does not make me wish to buy one (although I have, in the past, purchased a HK lamp and HK radio for Curious Girl's room), but it does make me laugh.

A happy Easter to all readers celebrating. And a happy end to spring break for all those parents whose children return to school tomorrow!

Ripley also loves Hello Kitty. Since he will be going off to school, soon, and I am not entirely sure what the reaction of his classmates would be to a strapping young boy with a Hello Kitty backpack, perhaps Hello Kitty toast would be the perfect solution.

Which you can alternate with the Hello Kitty Waffles. The product line is seemingly endless.

Or this. Seriously. Don't you need it? Don't we all need this?

I have that toaster! It's really cool! :)

Yes. We definitely do all need such a lovely guitar!

But I am not sure we need the guitar more than we need this or this. Or maybe we need all of it, to have good snacks after our jams.

Nikki, does it make good toast?

I distinctly recall having a Hello Kitty coinpurse when I was 6.

No toaster, though.

Is there such a thing as bad Hello Kitty toast? :)

I didn't even know there was such a thing as "headphone charms."

Chiming in late to say that Lovely Daughter #1 (known in the blogosphere as Woman Warrior) who is not at all a frou-frouy kind of girl has a great fondness for Hello Kitty even now. She was sorely tempted by a Hello Kitty coffee maker at one point, but refrained :)
