I Am Slow to Meme

S. tagged me ages ago for this one--see Niobe for the most utterly perfect approach to this one.

I am shy about memes.

I am overfull of anxiety after a dental visit today diagnosed mild periodontal disease.

I am woman, hear me roar still makes me smile and remember my incipient feminism. My views of feminism are considerably more complicated and subtle now, but just thinking about that song makes me smile.

I am compiling more lists of posts in my head than actual posts these days. But you knew that already, since if you're still reading you're probably used to my bursts of posts and bursts of silence.

I am not so fond of Popeye: I liked Underdog better.

I write posts in my head all the time, and they aren't ever as good when I finally get to the computer.

That's it in a nutshell, magpie--although every now and then, one comes out as I imagine it, and I'm very pleased. But lately, my imagined posts are way better (and more frequent!) than my actual posts.

But my commenters rock :).

You know there's a live-action Underdog movie coming out? AB saw the preview once and was in hysterics.

I didn't know, but just googled it! How potentially exciting (although I did love the goofiness of the cartoon one).

This meme reminds me, quite strongly, of a another meme that was circulating on blogs a few years ago.

Quite a number of people wrote poems loosely in the style of George Ella Lyon's poem Where I'm From and posted them to their blogs. The poems all begin "I am from..."

There's a collection of them here.

One thing I like about this meme is that it gives such lattitude in both strategy and content. So there's an extra layer of identity statement, too.

Thanks for playing along on my first meme--so also my first tag.

What a nice thing to say about my post.

And I also liked Underdog much better than Popeye (who actually scared me a little)
