It's not April, right?

If it were April 1, I'd be wondering whether this is an April Fool's story. But I checked: it's November, and according to Inside Higher Education, a Florida community college is now providing pet insurance, after declining to add benefits for domestic partners for faculty and staff. Really, you couldn't make this stuff up.

OMG...it does sound like April Fool. It is in Florida, though...

So, can you declare your partner to be your pet and get coverage that way?

Another eye-roller is the Australian ban on "Ho Ho Ho" from Santa - they don't want to offend anyone who thinks "Ho" = "Whore".

I'd love to hear the "reasoning" behind that pair of decisions.

God. How do people hold these ideas in their head and not fall down with utter moral system failure?

Next thing you know people will be marrying their dogs!!!!!!

Oh wait, they don't have to--they are getting the insurance just living in sin with their dogs...
